Sounds good.

Will I get much benefit from replacing plug wires, cap and rotor with regular replacement parts? I dont want to spend very much more on performance parts. (like $80 wires and $50 cap and rotor) Just in the things I'm doing to it came close to the value of the truck itself, and running out of extra cash to spend.

What do you think about this? http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...1120&ppt=C0270

And this? http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2815&ppt=C0334

If you are pressed for money, test and assess:

A NAPA (or other) cap and rotor with brass contacts will work and probably be cheaper. The wires just need to be checked for continuity and ohmic resistance to see if they are in spec. I honestly don't think any parts store sells a really good set of wires. On wires, you can spend a lot once, or a little several times over the life of a vehicle. I really like the set of Magnecor wires I bought, but they might be out of your price range.

If you're running a stock ignition system, you can honestly go a pretty long time without swapping those parts.

Plugs, I'd splurge a bit and try the NGK V power plugs in the stock heat range and GAP THEM. I almost always replace plugs when I pull apart the engine, unless I've done it within the last 10K.

THese have a .708 inch reach. Thought I needed a .750 inch reach. Think the .708 will be ok?

You can get them at a local parts store for about that price and not have to pay shipping or Summit's obnoxious handling charge.

This is what you need:

NGK #:
ZFR6F-11
Stock #: 4291
Plug Gap: .040
