So I'm looking at $158 in parts and about minimum of $500 labor? Not sure if I want to try to do it myself. I'm confident I can do it but I'm just afraid of screwing up something else during the plenum kit installation.

How long can I go with this gasket blown? What kind of damage can it do?

Was finally able to get it out to test it. Everything stock except for a new cat and K&N air filter. It topped out at 100mph (2750-2800rpm) wouldn't go any faster. Is this normal or is the plenum gasket robbing power?

Any help will be good at this point.

It'll just foul out plugs and burn up the cat and the dollars in your wallet for gas until you replace the gasket. Same thing mine is doing.

Well, just ordered the APS Plenum Plate Kit and a set of valve covers from them. After I get the headers on, exhaust on, and new plugs, wires cap and rotor, I'm gonna tear into this engine and get her all fixed up. Maybe even do the kegger mod an TB mod while I have them off.

Anything else I should replace while I have the intake off?

Seriously, there is nothing that you could screw up that would make it worth spending $500 for. And if you do, there will be people here to help you.

I agree with you on that one. I'l be doing the installation myself. Any special tools I might need to do this project? Got a torque wrench coming in the mail with 3/8" bit. Anything else?

According to popular theory, its on the transmission.... couldn't tell ya where though..... On manuals, it appears to be on the transmission, for auto's, part of the Park/Neutral switch?

Nah, just wait on the cam. Get confidence from doing this job right before you add too many variables.

You'll need an inch/lbs. torque wrench as well.

1.7 roller rockers is a nice little upgrade you can do relatively easily.
