Default Seafoam, 2001 Ram w/ 318

Hey Dodge Forum, I have a couple questions about seafoaming my dodge ram.

First of all, can I use the brake booster vac tube for seafoaming? Does this vac line distribute equally to all cylinders? or is there another vac line I need to use?

With 125,000 miles on the engine, should I use any seafoam in the crank case? or could this possibly damage my seals?

Thanks for the help

threw the brake booster line is fine. It won't harm any seals and it's O2 sensor safe. Do a search for "seafoam" and all your questions you could EVER think of will be answered.

alright folks, I've read some of the other seafoam threads. I still can't find an answer for my specific question.

Does the main brake booster vac line distribute evenly to all cylinders on the 318? or does it just go to cylinder 5?

seafoam should be OK in the crankcase. got it.

I went ahead and put the seafoam in my break booster line. The idle doesn't seem any smoother (had no problems before) but my acceleration feels a lot smoother.

I'll go ahead and put a third of the can in my gas tank, and put the last third in my crankcase. after 100 miles i'll change the oil again, fully synthetic. I've gotten enough results from just the brake boost line, that i'm feeling confident about the other two.

Thanks again, for any inputs!!

Did you let it sit after putting it in the booster line for 5-10 min...then drive it real hard to clear it out?
I also put a 1/3 in gas tank and 1/3 in oil. Just make sure you do change oil soon. Things seemed to work fine after I used it.

it is easier to disconnect the vacuum line on the front of the throttle body and feed it very slowly through there, should take about 10 minutes to use 1/4 bottle, then let it suck with full vacuum till the engine stalls out. turn off key and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes. hook the vacuum line back up then start it up and either drive the crud out of it or run the engine at 2500 to 3000 rpm till it almost completely clears up. put the rest, about 1/2 bottle in fuel tank with at least 1/2 tank of fuel. Be prepared to watch everything in sight to disappear from the smoke. and just to know the brake booster line only feeds to one side of the engine.

I just drizzle it through the TB. THen i know it goes everywhere.

Plus, I have the fitch fuel catalyst, So I can fill that up with seafoam and I know it will go straight through the injectors.

you can buy a GIANT in-line fuel filter, connect that to your fuel lin and just put the seafoam in that. However, you will have to cut your fuel line.
