Default Bumper separation

This seems to happen to a lot of dodges at least both of mine did this.

The best way to describe it is, the bumper is falling off.....

I was wondering how to fix this, is it as easy as loosening the bolts and putting the bumper back in to place and then tightening them up again? Or is there more to why this happens?

Mine looked like that after I hit a deer. Had to replace the brackets and the bumper itself due to it being bent.

Try loosening up the bolts and adjusting it first. If you haven't hit anything with it to cause things to bend, should be able to adjust it right up.

there's a dozen or more bolts that hold the brackets, braces, and bumper to the frame. loosen them all up, 18mm socket size, and move the bumper into place, then tighten them all back up. easy to do. i used a floor jack to hold my bumper level while i snugged them all. they're torqued pretty tight, i used a lot of pb blaster and a pipe on a pull bar. you might want to go straight to the impact if you got one.

im still learning and dont do to much on my own yet, but i was gonna buy an impact the other day because i need to change all 4 wheels and i was like well the impact will make it that much easier but to justify the purchase i tried to think of other thing i would use it for, i came up with nothing. Thanks for giving me 1 more

Well nothing has been hit, so im thinking the re-adjustment will do it

Loosen all the bolts, drive the truck against a wall, place a jack under the bumper and get it to the top of its slots. Then tighten it up. Worked like a charm for me.

i bought a Dewalt electric, corded, 1/2 drive a couple of years ago on ebay for about $50 and its been great. it'll remove lugs, and loosen most anything under about 150-200 pounds of torque. it'll only tighten up to about 100-125 or so, but that's ok for most jobs.
