It should be same:same, as the primary effect of a ram air system is increased pressure in the airbox.

That's true, I suppose the filter media would cause a bigger velocity drop than a curved tube in the system.

Aim- I was actually about to order that setup, but didn't want to spend the $100 to not have it fit under our cowl. Because the top lid is all one piece, which would be very difficult to maneuver over the S Bolt.

See, I was more concerned with interference with the throttle/trans linkages than the height, as it's a drop base setup.

It only sits 2.4" off the top of the TB, I think most guys running the cheapo 14x3" setup are actually using a 2.5" tall filter.

The ramairbox.com setup that Rm_Indy used also uses a drop base and does not interfere, but fits in the stock location as well.

only way to know for sure is to order one.

I see what you are saying, but the Ram Air Box that Indy is using, the entire base plate and box itself is one piece and has a separate lid. Where as the Spectre unit, the base plate is the same as a standard 14x3, and the lid and box itself is one piece. With the RamAirBox you can set the box down with the filter in it, and then screw in the S bolt and put the lid on. With the Spectre kit, you have to put the base plate on, then the S Bolt, and then the box itself. I'm not saying it won't fit, because its not any taller than a regular 14x3, but piecing it together under the cowl is what is going to be hard. Maybe it is a 3 piece design,I don't know, it just seems a bit more difficult to me. I think it would be a nice improvement though!

ahh, now I see what you are saying! It does appear the whole body is one piece, I will research further.

EDIT: it appears you are quite correct, it's all one piece, doubtful it will fit in our engines

That's what I was worried about, it seems like a great setup for the money though.
