I don't know for sure that you can buy just that piece. I'm thinking that its part of a kit you buy. But, just for giggles, i looked on ebay. There are 20 pages of intakes for our trucks. lol. Here's the list! http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories

Air Hat.

Doesn't the Dakota's use a similar looking piece for their intake system?

That one is an actual cold air induction system. If there is enough room under the hood for the filter housing, you can run the ductwork to someplace that ACTUALLY gets COLD air.

ok sorry if im stealing your thread but by the time the air gets into the intake and then the intake manifold which is how hot? i have a hard time believing that a "cold air intake" could actually do anything. you have all the heat of the motor battling with the coolness of the air. motors gotta win.

True, but, if you start with colder, denser, air, you are that much further ahead. Not to mention, that at speed, there will be a minor "ram" effect, if you place the intakes appropriately.

It would be a better system than drawing in hot air from the engine compartment........

Something else to consider though, is, take a look at the high performance super/turbocharger setups. They have intercoolers, to cool the incoming air.

Colder air equals More power, better efficiency.

I've seen several different ram air setups, but never for that cheap. I wonder if the 180* offset would cost you more velocity than the 110* setup at ramairbox.com

My only concern with these types of intakes on a DD is rain water being pushed into the intake.

Yeah, it's not like the air flowing inside it will cool the intake manifold. Oh... wait... it will. Never mind.
