Default Steering Gearbox

My gearbox is shot its leaking whenever i drive.

question is does anybody make a quick ratio gear box for our trucks, I know on the chevy ss trucks they have a 2.5 turn box while the regular 1500 has a 3 turn box

I would like to upgrade because on my brothers truck it made such a difference, and since I have to replace might as well do it now if possible

Yeah I found that site and there wasnt much to see, might have to call them another day and see what they say.

I've searched alot and found that the part number for an 01 is different from my 96 just cant find if the ratio is different and if it will work without modification, also the 8800gvw is supposed to fit too but it seems that it is just a stronger unit, this is going to suck searching for days but hopefully I get an upgrade, that will make what already great steering I have a tad bit better

I have the high ratio z51 steering in my vette and the only thing I can think of is it would be scary in my truck as one little bump and jerk of the wheel and you would swerve a lot....my truck is lifted so it would be worse for me though. My jeep was like that and everyone hated to drive it on the thruway because it was tiring to keep it steady and perfectly straight..
and seriosly I,m the only one who finds it a weird ironic coincidence that someone would have to tell someone with a handle of "redheadhunter" to search for "Redhead"?

i'm swappin in a diesel box tonight/tomorrow. i'll let ya know how that works/feels too. as far as cheap goes, 60$ at a wreckers up here will be cheaper than shipping anything to red head (for me at least)
