PCM problems....
i could see where the misunderstanding came from...in the 3rd gen ram's the pcm has to communicate with alot more modules and everythings alot more intergrated then the 2nd gen's making the computer programmed way differently..
hi everyone just got on to this forum maybe someone could point me in the right direction. was driving and gauge spiked on and off to and from work. told alternator out thinking that was problem and it wasnt. voltage regulator in computer **** out on me. Cant seem to find a newer computer for my truck anywhere. i got a 2002 2500 with 5.9 360. im looking for a 56040 205AC. not wanting to get a new one at dealer for 550 they want to beat me over head for and 120 to install. any ideas, sites, or what not i could find what im looking for. thankyou
The problem with all / most after market PCMs other than the one I listed is, they are not made to spec use cheap components, not fully tested and, they are refurbs that will eventually crap out. Cheap, but not any good. I know where they get them and, why they are so cheap. If you plan on keeping your truck, get a good one. If you plan on selling it- get a cheapo that someone else will have to deal with in a year- which is right around the time they fail again-usually.
