yes 10.5 will fit, but its pushin it, thats as big as you gonna wanna go on that rim. basically, take ur rim width + 3" and thats all the max width tire you wanna go.

I have seen up to a 305 ran on 7 inch rims, max I would put is 285 though which is about 11.5 wide.

My track rims are only 6 inches wide and I have 275/60/15 inch tires on them and even though they are a little round, after all the spinning and abuse I have put them through no problems, but they were a b*tch to put on

All in all the 10.5's are no problem

I am just wondering if I could go to the junkyard, and pick up some wider wheels off of a different truck? I have a 96 2500, so, eight lug..... anyone have a clue if one of the other manufacturers have the same bolt pattern with a slightly wider wheel?

IIRC the fords have the same bolt pattern for a couple of years, go here and look it up http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-r...e-Database.asp

Thank You. I want to put some wider tires on the truck when the time comes... (income tax...) but, I really don't want to put 11+ inch wide tires on my 6.5 inch rims... Whose brilliant idea was it to go with such a skinny rim??

I was also told that at stock height my I could run 32"s.Is that true I have no lift and my truck is 4x2.What would a 285 and 305 be in inches? What is the equivalent for a 32"?is it the 285 or the 305?How wide is a 285?

Yea a 32 on a 2wd is about it, when dealing with metric sizes the first number is the width, then the next number is the aspect ratio and the last is the rim size....a 285/75/16 which done in standard is 33x11.3x16

That is a little to big for a 2wd, you could run it but you would have to deal with rubbing or do a little work with the plastic inner fender, a coil spacer could solve this for cheap, or just stick with a 265/75/16 which done in standard is 32x10.5x16
