Off topic, you have 250r trike? Got any pics of that bad boy?
Great to hear the pump brought your pressure back up. Lots of members here just consider it engine wear and don't worry about it, but I'm gonna replace my pump too in the near future. Any tips to add?

Here is a pic of my trike, as well one from a collector guy. His collection is outstanding and includes the last year of every popular atv/bike in brand new, never run condition. It consists of '87 Tecate 3, 07 CR125 and 250, last year banshee, last year Tri-Z, '01 CR500, '04 KX500, last year YZ490, last year Big Red, etc. Basically the last year of any bike/atv you can imagine that would be of value.

^^ The how to that guy posted on the first page was basically everything. Theres not really anything I can add. Only problems I had was taking out the oil pan, and putting it back on. Takes some finesse to get it on there right. But it's probably because I have a 2wd.

As for your 250r, that's beautiful. Hang onto that forever. They are getting harder and harder to find. I'm curious about that collectors tecate. Those trikes scare the hell out of me, but they are so much fun. I've ridden one a few times (My buddy's got one), and I just can't push it as far as it wants to go. Freeking scary man, and I ain't afraid to admit that. But yeah I have an 83 225dx, and 02 Beartracker 250 quad.

Bringing this back from the dead!

Did changing the oil pump fix the pressure problem permanently? Have similiar issues now and about to change it

Wondering if you ended up rebuilding after another year or two?

Mines been about a year, and around 10,000 miles. I still have some interesting behavior when the engine is fully warm, but, I am not sure if it's my gauge, or the pump. Need to stick my mechanical back on there, and test it....

I have been all over the forum and this and glad I found this thread. Sitting at 212k miles and for almost a year I have been dealing with an up and down in oil pressure and just this week it finally started to drop towards the far left almost never hitting 40 after I start it.

Just picked up all the parts but opted for the high volume pump, I was really looking forward to doing the plenum fix but no signs of needing it so maybe later

Thanks for all the info everyone
