Default WIX 51515 suitable for 5.9?

Is it suitable, or is the Motorcraft FL-1A a better choice?

wix is my choice of filter, but the motorcraft isn't a bad filter either. anything but fram and you'll be alright imho.

My old man and uncle were both mechanics and as long as I can remember have sworn by Wix filters.
Although I have been lazy and not made a special trip to NAPA at times and gone with a Purolator Pure 1 and a Mobil 1, for the most part I use Wix filters...

If choosing WIX, the 51515 is the correct filter for increased volume, correct?

51515 is the PN for the wix equivalent to the MC FL-1a is it not?

Wix is a good filter, Napa Gold filters are made by Wix currently, and are merely rebadged Wix filters.

Yes it is, and it is my choice in filters as well, although I am not abjectly against Fram, I have heard they subsidized their production to china...which makes me want to go back on what I said about Fram a month ago now that I know...
