Whoa, schizo post.

A drop and drain on the tranny will take 6-8 quarts.

what studs are you referring to?

A good cheaper header is the edelbrock ceramic coated header.

use ATF+4 transmission fluid only.
check fluid level in neutral only, not park - it will read high.

i can't help you with headers, i hate the junky sob's. they're all junk.

headers suck. they rust out. they work loose. they leak. they don't fit worth a ****. the pipes interfere with the bolts. they look pretty for 5 minutes and then rust up. they lead you to waste money on the downstream exhaust pipes. they're way over-priced. they're a huge waste of money for the little teeny-tiny bit of performance they provide.

other than that, they're fine.

here here. although my logs are getting some SERIOUS cracks in them lately.

To the OP, pan drop, filter change usually results in 5 quarts and change. Get 7 quarts, keep the extra with the truck. Keep the bolts if they look ok, biggest problems people have is the gasket they put on. I've solved header problems with two gaskets on each side before

OP - get the premium filter/gasket kit from Advance. clean the pan good, don't lose the magnet. don't overtorque the little bolts, the torque spec is very light, something like 10 pounds.

the most likely cause of leaks is a bent pan, either from overtighten the bolts and creating a "bump" at the bolt hole, or bending the damn thing by prying on it with a screwdriver. check it all the way around with a straight edge. de-bump it with a hammer as needed. do all this, you'll have NO leaks.

i also recommend installing drain plug dorman 65241, about $3 from advance. you'll appreciate it later.
