i have a skyjacker lift, i have had it aligned and adjusted and my steering wheel has lots of play in it... dodge just had a bad steering setup...

 

Me and my dad looked at it today. When you turn the wheel the Pitman shaft turns when you feel the steering wheel having risistance. So my problem from what i can see is in the box. Thanks guys.

 

Download the manual from the FAQ section here, and there is a procedure in there to re-adjust your steering box. If the pitman shaft seal is leaking, it is also a good time to replace it.

The DIY only deals with pitman shaft 'over center' preload. If the sector shaft has slop in it as well, that article won't do the whole job. FSM has the full procedure.

That said..... Simply doing the one adjustment can make a BIG difference in the steering. On my box, it is pretty bad, so, it needs to come out, and get the full treatment. (and replace the pitman shaft seal to boot.... Great Fun.)
