Cheap M/T help
Well, in the next two weeks im picking up a '01 4x4 5speed Sport 75k and the tires on it are dead shot but I gotta make it from MD down here to GA.
After, it's just going to be a weekend toy. I got my bike to take me to and from school, my Si for when it rains on those days, and the ram for other activities. So, it wont be gaining alot of miles quickly, hence my reasoning for wanting a MT or a VERY aggressive AT.
I found Federal M/T tires for 123/ea. I'm looking to stay under 130ish 140ish each but ^^ that brand doesn't seem to have the best reviews. I can get the tires price matched locally here so I don't have to worry about shipping costs. I live out in the country on nothing but dirt roads so a 4x4 with decent tires will be nice, i can even tow my bike
edit; stock rims and prefer to stay with a 32-33 inch tire

since you don't have to worry about road noise, mileage warranty, etc, just get the cheapest ones with heavy sidewalls, the biggest lugs, and the biggest voids you can find.
your local tire shop should be able to guide you through whatever they can order from their distributor. like you said, you need to avoid shipping costs.
i wouldn't worry too much about reviews. its mostly just people's opinions, and sometimes they don't make any sense at all...
that Federal tire looks fine. it has 2 very positive reviews here.

some discussion about sidewall problems. a couple of people mentioned having them replaced under warranty. check with your local tire shop on warranty. since you're out on dirt roads, it wouldn't be a big safety issue.

I have the dakota M/T and they were 134 a tire(285/75/16), nice and open tread design yet not to loud, do great in the mud and good with dirt road traction, have only put 4k on my set and havent had a problem, they are wearing even and the way its going I should see at least 20k out of them.
Pepboys sells them and they are made by cooper tires, if you want pics of them, I can post some up

the dakota looks like a good tire.
its a lot more expensive here in GA though, at $170/tire. not sure if this includes mount, balance, tax, etc.
