Intermittant Hard Starting
Ok, here is the rundown. I have been having flow codes ever since I had my charcoal canister and purge solenoid replaced.
I took the truck (97 1500 5.9 auto 4x4) to a guy to do the smoke test and I stayed there to observe.
1) He told me the canister was installed upside down so he fixed that.
2) He found a blocked line from canister back and he replaced that.
3) He found tiny bits of charcoal in the new purge solenoid so he cleaned that.
4) he checked all lines and they are all clear and hooked up.
THE ISSUE: The truck usually starts at the touch of the key, but every once in a while, especially if it has been parked all day in the sun on a very hot day, the truck spins over for several seconds before starting.
It seems to run very well and my mileage is pretty good considering how notorious these are for poor mileage.
NO CODES at this time. Any ideas where to start looking?

But only every once in a while? Most times the truck starts right up. I mean, it sits overnight for 10 hours and fires right up but may sit all day for 10 hours it might or might not give me a fit.
Sounds like you're being a bit paranoid to me. On those hot days, try this.. turn the key to on, let the fuel pump prime, then crank it over. If no hesitation, its just the heat messing with the pressure in the lines causing it to release in the tank.
