Default A/C question

My air conditioner in my truck isnt working right. Its blowing air but its not cold. Also when I hit the gas, it shuts off. Why would it do that? And would it not be blowing cold air because of to much freon? Thanks

Too much, or too little refrigerant will make it not want to work.

I am going to guess that when you hit the gas, it doesn't actually shut off, it just switches to the defroster vents...... check that out, and if that is indeed the issue there, do a search here on "wild vents". There IS something you can do about that.

you are most likely low on freon, when you hit the gas the comp is shutting off because there is not enough pressure to allow it to safely run, so it shuts off. i would give it a charge, that is most likely your problem.
