Hey guys , I have a 1997 Dodge 1500 with a 360 and the 4 speed automatic transmission with an 8 foot bed and super cab . I had the tranny rebuilt and installed . Before the old tranny went, the 4x4 light also flickered and now with the new one it's flickering again . All sensors were replaced with new tranny . Any suggestions , or am I SOL ? Thanks , any help is greatly appreciated .

 

4x4 lite is controlled by a switch on the front axle, screwed into the inboard side of the CAD housing. Either your actuator for the front axle is not retracting all the way, or, there is a short in the wiring/switch somewhere.

Try disconnecting the switch, and running it that way for a while. If the lite doesn't flicker, the problem is in the switch/cad somewhere, if it still flickers, then you have a wiring problem.
