I have read mixed things saying that the temp sensor is too long for the servo port. Is that correct info?

It fit just fine on my 46re, but I don't think I threaded it in all the way.

Depends on what temp sending unit you use. Some are too long, some are not. There are various sizes of temp sending units, you have to make sure you use the right length.

I am getting the Autometer Z-Series temp gauge, so it looks more like the factory gauges, if that helps.

THat's the gauge I run, and the sending unit that came with it fit fine. But that was about 5-6 years ago that I installed it. Not sure if they ship the same sending unit. Just check the depth of the hole, and check the length of the sending unit, and go from there - adjust as necessary.

Use a little teflon tape on the threads to help create a seal, don't thread it in all the way either, and you'll be fine.
