Is this thing broken? (ignition)
Shouldn't I not be able to do this to my ignition? Watch my vid on youtube to see what i'm talking about.

I can do that with mine too
As long as I don't lock it I could go forever without a key in it... Do you have a spare key? My spare works normally, ie. can't pull it out, but I like being able to pull the key out so I use the original one.... I think it's more the wear and tear on the key itself than the ignition cylinder.
Now I'm curious, haven't tried my spare in quite some time so I'll have to see if it still works right
EDIT: yup, my spare key still works like it should. FWIW, my spare is an actual Dodge key, with the ram head, and my everyday worn out key looks to be a cut key, with ILCO on it...

Mine does the same thing, and so did my Dad's '98 3500. I have seen it in several of the Chrysler switches through the years. I also had a 95 Grand Cherokee for a few years that did it the whole time I had it and I have never had any trouble out of any of them. not really sure why they are that way but they have all done the same thing from my experience.
One thing that wears out switches and keys is to much weight. I have my key on a clip so I can separate the ignition key from the remote and the rest of the keys for gas, hitch, canopy lock, etc. If you have the ignition key by itself, the switch and key will last a whole lot longer. Something to keep in mind when you get it all taken care of.
