Default Roaring Noise in front

I have a roaring noise somewhere in the front of the truck. I can't discern whether it is under the hood or a front wheel. It only makes the sound when I am moving and gets louder with speed. Also, when i turn the wheel to the right, it gets louder and when I turn to the left, it goes away completely. Any ideas?

thanks

Need more info on your truck.

2WD or 4WD

It sounds like a wheel bearing..

You probably have a bad wheel bearing my friend. If you can jack up the front end of your truck and shake your right front wheel and see if it wiggles. It shouldn't, but I'm guessing it will.

The other thing it could most likely be is a CV joint, but try the wheel first.

roaring is usually wheel bearing. test as described. you can also grab the top of the tire with the truck on the ground and shake it with all of your might. it should have no play. if it has play - check further, as it could be bearing (center of the wheel) or ball joint at top/bottom of the steering knuckle. with tire off the ground you can spin the wheel, other than a little brake scrub, it should be smooth and quiet. any dry roar is bad.

x9 probably means front axle u-joint, as we don't have cv-joints. but, u-joints generally click or clack, not roar.
