Radiator overflowing. New cap?
Well did the pressure test today found the leak.
My freeze plug on the left side is bad for sure and possibly the rear ones too. I took it to a friends shop to get it confrimed and he thinks the rear are fine and is gonna charge me 200 bucks to do the other.
Also I went ahead and changed the tstat and water pump. Along with all wires and plugs. Had a field day today.

Hope the rears are fine, gotta pull the tranny for those. If you plan on keeping the truck, ask for brass freeze plugs. They stand up to corrosion better. The steel ones are zinc plated, when the zinc is gone, the steel goes fast.
Labor is the biggest killer. I am getting brass plugs I am guessing thats why its so much.
I got 3 estimates the first one was 760 and they was just gonna replace the back ones without knowing if they where bad. The second was 375 for just the one on the left. I think im getting a decent deal with 200. Tax is already included.
I did want to note that this morning when I got to work I popped the hood and the top hose was really hard. Is that normal for when the freeze plugs go out?
Also he is doing a radiator flush so ill get all the bad stuff out.
Anything I should do while im dropping the cash out?

I had one go that cost that much, It was right behind an engine mount so they had to support the engine, pull the mount, and then change it.
I didn't have an engine hoist to support the engine, so I paid to have it done.

Seems a mite steep to me, but I've never paid anyone to replace a freeze plug. Doing it myself, though, I'd be in and out with a refilled and burped system in an hour or maybe a tad less. (Slide hammer FTW!)
One of my favorite toys. Erm.... Tools. Yeah. Tool. That's it.
well its a good thing I took it to a shop. Got some bad news this morning blocks cracked. So the truck is pretty much done. I'll be putting it up for sale today. To bad I really liked this thing.
