Ya know what? Good ol' 1.49 plugs will give you the same performance as a 13 dollar plug. Marketing hype.

I had bosch platinum tipped plugs in my Isuzu V-6.
On a 20 below morning, I cranked it over, it backfired out of the carb then never started again until after trouble shooting the pellets popped out of the tips 5 of the 6 cylinders.
I replaced with good ol' autolite plugs that were on sale for .99 a piece and it always started. 20 below or 100 degrees.

Never throwing my money away on plugs again like that.

And here I thought the $13 plugs would cause my truck to get 20mpg and make my weenis bigger

It's old school, but worth repeating.

According to the product descriptions, if you bought everything in the JC Whitney Catalog and installed it into a 1960 Studibaker Lark, you'd have a car that had 4,000 horsepower and got 200 mpg.

Don't forget to install truck nuts on your hitch too.
Gives it even MORE POWER.

Two more power adders you may want to try-white mud flaps with blue lights on them and a fox squirrel tail on the antennae. Be sure it is from a fox squirrel and NOT a gray one!

Don't get any of the rare earth plugs, just get some good ole copper champions or autolites.

I like champions

I figured it was worth a shot. Someone (CMckenna) from this forum had a night and day experience with them. He bought a set of NGKs and a set of pulstar plugs. If he didn't notice a difference he was going to return the pulstars.

He put in the pulstars and it made a very noticeable difference. He was still skeptical because the prior plugs had about 20K miles on them and thought that the performance gain was because of having newer spark plugs in. So he swapped in the NGKs. Well, the ride went back to the way it was before doing the tuneup. So he put the Pulstar plugs back in and returned the NGKs.

I will be moving from Bloomington IN to West Point NY in another month. SO I will also report if I have better fuel mileage. I will also be towing and hauling about 3500 lbs of household goods (towing a 5x8 trailer with my 600lb moptorcycle in it, rest of the weight in the bed). So I will let you know what MPG I get towing with OD off (91 octane tune). it is 775-800 miles for the trip, so it should be a good review.

Do I think they are worth 100 dollars? Probably not. BUT, there are less and less mods i can do to my truck for 100 dollars or less.

Half the trip you should try one plug and the second you should try and another, that'll give some really good numbers and end a lot of arguing (unless you're driving into or out of the mountains)

I drove from Arkansas to Indiana a year ago and I made a thread about the mileage from the trip (I was comparing being IN overdrive and OUT of overdrive while towing). Basically I did one fillup in overdrive and one out of overdrive.

I don't want to mess with my truck WHILE I am moving my family halfway across the country because I don't want to risk the chance of me messing something up. I think that with 2 years of driving with accel U-groove plugs I have a very good idea of my gas mileage.

In a 60 mile round trip, i averaged 17.8 miles per gallon with my current plugs. But I never got over 60 MPH and half of it was with overdrive off. But there were hardly any stops.
