That's one reason I went with the Warn Trans4mer grill guard on my truck (besides the optional winch mount). Big stainless steel tubes on that sucker. Deer all over the place in south Georgia not to mention the fact I used to live in a county in north Georgia that for three successive years led the nation in insurance claims due to hitting deer...

Yeah, I gotta agree. Even the thicker stainless steel bars on mine may not do a whole lot. Gotta have a Ranch Hand or an Arb or something along those lines for the best protection possible...

A buddy of mine in Colorado went from naked front end to cheap brush guard to expensive brush guard to Buckstop after every deer or elk strike. He quit replacing front ends on his truck after he got the Buckstop. The first time he kissed an elk with his truck after putting the Buckstop on, he broke even on the deal.
There's not a brush guard on the market that will stand up to a mulie or whitetail deer, let alone an elk or moose. And even with a Buckstop that bull elk or any adult moose might crush the hood with its head, but at least you stand a chance. With some aftermarket coil springs installed even a 1500 will carry a Buckstop just fine.
