It is possible it could be the pressure switch, but you could also just be wasting time and money at a problem that you are not correctly diagnosing. If you just throw new parts in it hoping for the best, chances are you will not have good results.
I am not just throwing parts. As I said I did a lot of search on the web on this issue and the pressure switch was a common issue. So since it is only a $30 part I will try that. If that does not do it then I will take it into the shop, but I would rather spend $30 right off then $75 for the shop to look and find the issue. $30 is not going to break me and it works then, sweet.
I know you had a plenum issue, but that does not mean that it is the issue for everyone. After searching I have found there could be several issues and the plenum was the least mentioned solution to this problem. So it might not be that.
I completely agree. And $30 isn't to bad. You would be surprised how many people on this forum will jump to 'bad plenum' Prolly the most mentioned thing on this side of the forum anyways
FYI: some local shops don't know about the plenum thing unless they are familiar with magnums. So might want the stealership to look at it, they will know for 100% sure.
Well hope you figure it out, and keep us updated on how the fix goes.
because the manifold is not making a correct seal, allowing the oil to get in the kegger. Thus the oil pressure dropping at idle. My truck did this, and when the plenum was fixed, oil pressure never dropped back down. Not even once.
It never dropped back down -- as opposed to falling back up?
Do you work for The Department of Redundancy Department? Just asking

I would be more inclined to say that during your repair of the plenum, you also inadvertantly "fixed" a loose connection at the oil pressure switch, thus making it look like a new gasket fixed the oil pressure issue.
