Cool 1999 Ram ac evaporator

Im gettn ready to Pull my dash and change ac evaporator and heater core. I noticed that the ac lines have a clip over the connections. Am I to assume after I remove the clips these lines will pull apart or are they crimped. P.S. I know to drain the system first thanks Vince

Need the cool little special tool. Remove the clips, insert special tool, and the lines should pull apart. Same tool as used for the fuel line at the rail I do believe.

I picked one up at Advance Auto. I think it was like 14 bucks? But, the neat nifty plastic feller they had (a 'universal multisize' tool...) wouldn't fit where it needed to go. (trans line by the radiator.) So, went and got the specific tool for the job. Worked great. Almost like it was designed to.... Imagine that.

I think they are referred to as "fuel line disconnects", or some such. If you explain to whomever it is ya talk to what you are trying to do, they can point you in the right direction. I suspect you will need two different sizes.

And Yes. I am a Pink Floyd fan. Chose this name when several others I was trying to use at one other forum were taken.... this one kinda stuck. I am all over the 'net now.

the most common name is fuel line disconnect. sometimes its called AC disconnect but its the same thing. if money is no object, oem brand has a nice 4 piece aluminum set for about $20. unfortunately i've never used anything except the 3/8 size.

vince - is your dash cracked, and are you going to replace it too?

Hey You - why not be Great Gig ?

my dash is falling all to pieces i wonder how many hours it would take to pull the dash, replace heater, evap, dash and put it all back together ?
