Default 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Engine Running and Exhaust

The exhaust looked kinda smokey. Does it sounds good?

Sounds like it should for stock exhaust. So that is good. A bit of smoke is perfectly fine, if turns to a blue color is when you need to be worried. Looks like a nice clean truck man!

is that a 5.2, automatic, and 4x4 by chance? If it is, I think i can help you out with a cheap Mopar performance PCM (92 octane). I had it in my 1996 and took it out when I bought my 2001.

Yeah it is. Whats a Mopar performance PCM? Does that mean i always have to run super unleaded?

you don't need a 180 stat. Also, if super unleaded is 30 cents more per gallon, that is only 6 dollars more per 20 gallon fillup. ANd you get better gas mileage with the chip and running better gas. So it is really pennies.

75 bucks plus exact price of shipping (around 5-8 dollars). Your truck needs to be:

1. 1996 year
2. 5.2 motor
3. Automatic
4. 4x4

That is what the PCM is programmed for. Must match all 4 of those.

If you want a cheap way to get a better PCM, this is the way to go. otherwise you are looking at 275 for a SCT.

PM me if you want it.
