1999 Dodge Ram...Down on power
There are two breathers - one coming out of each valve cover. Disconnect the large one on the drivers side going into the air cleaner.
Haven't heard of this test exactly. Have done tsb test and looked down intake when I had tb off for cleaning. Passed those 2 tests and truck has good performance, so if it passes this test, I'll leave the plenum be. How do you do the test exactly? Remove pcv, cap off port in intake and put a bolt or something in pcv hose, then put the paper over oil fill hole and see if it stays there? That about right or will I be plugging something off that I should be leaving open? And this is a pretty much sure fire test, right? Sounds similar to tsb test with a poor man's vacuum gauge.

It's a quick test we did at the shop. We checked it against a vacuum gauge and it was right every time.
You want to disable PCV altogether. So, pull the valve out of one side valve cover, and the inlet hose out of the other, just use a bit of duct tape over one hole, and put the paper over the other. You can also just tape over the the end of the inlet hose, and the end of the PCV valve to isolate them.
I love duct tape......
