Default Whats the point of NOS on a truck?

I was looking at summit racing and i found a nitrous kit for my truck. I was just wondering what the point of putting it on would be? Do people drag race trucks? Will the NOS system work on a stock engine or does the engine have to be modified before it can handle it?

if you are planning on NOS i would go through the motor first, then the transmission and then the exhaust. The heads would be the first thing to modify. then you would change intakes, there would be alot involved. I havent heard of many juiced rams out there, maybe RM Indy can shed some light on this, he races his awesome truck

To spew oil all over the road behind you... but really if you are going to be running nos or bost on stock parts... well you wont be for long.

5-10yrs ago I know of a few guys juicing their trucks at the track.
Most would get an M1/2bbl intake to eliminate the plenum gasket blowing out all the time.
RT heads were the ticket cause the stock heads tend to crack (EQ/Hughes HD better now)
One buddy ran a 100 shot (Nitrous Express) quite a few times.
Back then his 5.9 ran 15.1s without it & 13.6 best with it. (r/c s/b)
Really need to have slicks too if you want it to stick or you cant hit it till 2nd gr(less et reduction).
Hard on the trans, dshaft & axles if your not running a progressive controller.
Should be a bit faster with progressive controller as well.
Bottom ends fairly decent, but any detonation & you can melt holes in the pistons & put windows in the block.

LOL Now that's a good one that made me laugh. Great choice of wording there.

those kits are actually universal kits and are made to fit almost any car/truck out there,so summit puts those products in all the vehicle listings.
