Default Identify This Line Please

Below is a line I discovered while changing the cap/rotor on my '95 2500 4x4. It looks like a vacuum line but runs to nothing. It is green in color and runs to the top of the transfer case. The 4x4 engages and works fine as is. I put my finger over it with the engine running and didn't notice any vacuum from the line. Is this just a vent tube for the transfer case?

The line is located on the driver side firewall right by the distributor/back of engine.

Is it supposed to be a dead end like that? Or should it be connected to something?

I was looking at the charts at the chystler place where I bought my replacement charcoal canister, and I could never find that it attached to anything. Never got a chance to look at another truck to be certain, but if yours is the same also, im going to say its supposed to be open. My new hose even came with a little umbrella shaped cap to keep the airflow and keep the dust out.
