Default heater hose bypass

Does any one know if this will work. On the 1970s D100 there was a valve that would shut off the water flow to the heat exchanger .
Could I put that valve in on the passenger side of my 01 5.2L?
Would that starve or cavitate the block?
Maybe add a tee and a crossover to connect with the other side.
Bringing that hot water to my cab is not helping my A/C.

If the temp door is working properly, no air should flow thru the heater core when you have the temp all the way to cold. There is a little motor that controls the temp door, and it has a coupler between the motor, and the lever on the door. It has a tendency to break..... If you look under your dash, passenger side, just to the right of the trans tunnel, it is right up there on the heater box. Comes off with two screws, one is a bit of a drag to get to..... set your temp dial to the middle, pull the little motor, see what the coupler looks like.

okay, I see what you mean, I was just thinking if the hot coolant never reached that point it would not matter about the position of the door.

To get the full effect of your a/c, that door needs to work right. I have the same problem.

I was reading on another post about the correct check valves , but i forgot to write that info down. They were talking about the pros and cons , dealer vs parts house.
I live in the city so location is not an issue, I really don't like to pay for junky replacement parts when the good stuff is the same distance away. Do you know the part #s.
Maybe a half dozen breakfast tacos would get me an exploded veiw and parts list from the dodge boys?
