No the rear O2 has little if any effect on mpg. The smell will go away with time.

Ok. Here I am with a dumb question. Which pipe do you put the new o2 sensor on? does it matter? Im hopin puttin the new front o2 sensor on will help my mpg. I have been runnin no sensors for about 4 or 5 months now. no codes, so I guess my CEL dont work. Im not real worried bout that tho

It goes on the passenger side in front of the cat. and the other one goes after the cat.

Ok, no offense, but the reason i was askin, is cuz there is no cat. i cut that hunk of useless metal off, just to find out it was empty anyway... and i was only plannin on runnin the front o2 sensor that controls all the important stuff, not the supposedly useless rear one. And if any of this makes no sense, thats cuz i am far from an expert on anything lol. just a bit of forewarning

You wanna leave the rear O2 in there.... just do the non-fouler trick (DIY in FAQ Section) to prevent it from setting the CEL.
