Tranny wont shift out of 1st

Tranny wont shift out of 1st
Specs:
2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Sport Off-Road Quad Cab
5.9L engine
124,000 miles
Auto Tranny
So just yesterday my transmission started shifting weird. It would rev way up to over 3k before it would shift from 1st to second and seemed all confused on when it needed to be in what gear.
Well today it wont shift out of first at all. I checked the fluid and it was a little low but nothing serious. Fluid looked normal, didnt smell burnt or anything. Put some fluid in it. Still wont shift out of 1st gear.
Does anybody have any ideas? Is the tranny shot?
