Default Air Bag Light is on

How do I turn it off?

Its been on since I got the truck, I guess I have an air bag in there since I have the cover on the steering wheel, what else should I be looking for? Is there a way to just turn it off? I tried just pulling the fuse for what I thought was just the air bag and the whole dash turned off, so that wasnt it.

Do I need to buy another air bag?
How do I confirm I have the air bag in without taking the steering wheel apart?

Thanks in advance.

If it says SRS, or some such on your steering wheel, you have an airbag. There should also be a little box on the floor, center of the trans tunnel, right under the dash, that might also reference SRS, or AirBag, or some such nonsense.

Ooops. 96, yep, drivers side air bag. Need to pull the codes, and see what it is whining about. Not sure if the parts store readers can get those.......

Went to Dodge dealer, they wanted $100 to read it. Yeah right, NOT!

OK went to autozone, they put their reader on and it wouldnt read. They said it should be powered off the cig lighter, I pushed it in, but it wouldnt stay in.

So now what should I do?

What should be powered off the cigarette lighter? Their scanner?

On an OBDII engine, every one I have seen draws power right from the diag port..... there IS a 12 volt source there. (with the ignition on at least.)
