Default Updated nut for Pinion

I replaced my Pinion seal and the manual called for a new nut. The dealer sold me one that looked nothing like the one I removed (Much bigger). I torqued it and the preload was dead on but the nut is not flush with the end of the pinon (half a thread longer then the pinion). It will not allow my flange yoke to mate flush with my Companion flange on the pinion. I removed the driveshaft and the nut is hitting the inside of the flange. Dealer says the nut is correct (Been upgraded 4 times). On hold for a service manager to call me back.

Update..The old nut has a washer and if you install a new nut you dont use the washer. Thank you Dallas Dodge for the info.
