Low volume crackling probably isn't bad speakers but dirty connectors. Id get some contact cleaner and clean up the connections before spending the dough if that is the real reason for replacing. Or maybe you are really just looking for an excuse to upgrade which is cool too...
High volume crackling on the other hand is usually bad.
Never thought about that. I will have to take my door panel off and see if I can clean the connections.
I don't really want to spend the money (tight wad, I know) right now on speakers.
The factory speakers actually sound good when I get them to I would say mid volume. It is the low volume where they don't.
I knew high volume crackling meant it was a blew speaker, but never heard one crackle at low volume.
If you can you might want to solder the connections after cleaning them up and if that ends up fixing the problem. They'll always sound good after that.
Wow that is a great deal. I am actually thinking of getting that so I can stream the songs from my iPhone!!! 149...damn. I bought mine for 250 in 2002, and it just plays MP3s that are burnt onto CDs.
But I still like my cassette player. I have about 15 cassettes in my center console.
IMO, if you're going that cheap, I would just go to walmart and buy a set of pioneers.
Either do it right or don't do it all. I can understand, more than you think, money issues, but even the great builds had to be delayed for cash flow issues.
