Default Got a new radio installed....

So I finally broke down and bought an aftermarket radio for my truck instead of trying to find a factory one cheaper than $100.

I picked up this Sony from Crutchfield for $149.99. It has Bluetooth built in so I can stream music and make phone calls from my iPhone.

It is amazing how much better the stock speakers sound with this radio over the factory radio.

Now I just need to upgrade my speakers. Anyone have a good aftermarket replacement for the small speakers at the top of the door (Infinity system)?

You'll quickly find that streaming music through that 802 protocol will be more hassle than it's worth. At 2Mb, it's a bit slow and flakey...

Anyways, what you want in terms of speakers rests in what you want to spend, and what you want.

If you want to get into some higher end speakers, note that you will have to invest in a decent four channel amp to compensate for the Deck's output.

I listened to it that way last night for about 2 hours without any interruptions or hiccups in the streaming.

I don't want to spend a whole lot of money. Something basic just to replace the low volume crackling of the worn out factory speakers.

You might look at some Polks.

Infinity if you're not a bass junkie or plan on amping later down the road.

I've shopped at this place since 2004 and have never had a problem with them. These should fit and are hopefully in your price range.

Clarion 5 1/4 Speakers

The only Polks that I can find are over $100 a set. I don't even want to spend that much. Maybe $150-$200 total on all 6 speakers.

I am not a bass junkie. The music I listen to (country) doesn't need a sub in my opinion.

Good ole Newegg. I buy from them all the time. I actually forgot they carry car audio as well.

Isn't the front speakers 6x9's?

What size are the upper speakers in the door with the Infinity system?

Low volume crackling probably isn't bad speakers but dirty connectors. Id get some contact cleaner and clean up the connections before spending the dough if that is the real reason for replacing. Or maybe you are really just looking for an excuse to upgrade which is cool too...

High volume crackling on the other hand is usually bad.
