Just talked to my dad and he looked it over...he thinks I need to flush the rad. I just read my hynes manual and found out where all the drains plugs are on the block. I'm gonna try that once it cools down.

Thanks for the help dhvaughan! I will try that test if flushing the system does not help.

if it runs hot with no t-stat, then its either a bad radiator or something very wrong with water pump or head gasket or something.

I would rule out that its the radiator. Also, I would check both temp. sensors if you got them.

Just got back from fishing and flushed the radiator. The drain bolt did not flow anything out. I had to disconnect the lower rad hose. My dad thinks the radiator is plugged up since nothing came out of that bolt

Park it on a hill with the nose facing down. You might try reverse flushing it with the block drains out to get the crud out of the bottom of the motor.

Flushed the radiator and it was fine...then took the upper rad hose off to see if the water pump was pumping and nothing was coming out. So i believe my water pump must be broken. Probably one of the propellors

Nothing will come out until the engine gets up to thermostat opening temp. Don't be near it when it starts pumping.........

It was at 230 plus. Thermostat was tested and works so I must not be getting anything from the water pump

It should have tossed something...... rare is the time when a water pump has failed completely. (and still looks normal on the outside.....) If you remove the thermostat entirely, and run it that way, does anything at all circulate?

Pull the thermostat and see what it does...
