motor goes into high idle once placed in park

Default motor goes into high idle once placed in park

01 1500 with the 5.2 and has 109,000 miles on it just this week it started going into hight idle (1,000 rpm) once placed in park, any ideas ot anyone had this happen to them

mine did that too, gotta clean your IAC on back of throttle body

either IAC (on back side) or TPS (on drivers side).

should i replace or clean for the IAC

clean it 1st see if it works . i wouldnt pay for a new one if you can just clean it for free

looks like the tps took care of it but i also replaced the idle air valve, all is good

keep your old IAC as a spare. next time you have an idle problem, you can swap in a known good part for free.
