Talking frame cracked at power steering box.. help!!

Hey, so I took my truck in for an alignment today only to find out that my frame was cracked following the inside along where the power steering box bolts up. Does anyone know of any premade patch kits that i can weld on over the crack with the holes and everything in their locations or do I need to fabricate one up myself? I got a buddy with a bridgeport milling machine and a bunch of welders so we can probably do it. I just want to make sure there's not an easier route. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

lets see some pictures so we can figure out what would be the best thing to do. maybe as easy as a patch or may have to box and sleeve the frame

Dont forget to stop drill the crack on both ends before you install your patch.

Sorry the pictures are so big. No idea how to downsize them, but for further clarification the crack is in the frame directly behind the rear bolt of the steering box.

go to image shack (just google it) and you can downsize there.

I've not heard of anything off the shelf for a patch so, you'll have to fab something up. After that you'll probably want to tie the two frame horns together.

the first thing you need to do is pull the steering box take a wire brush or grinder with a wire brush (do not use a grinding disk!!!!!) and see how bad the crack is. as far as drilling a hole at each end of the crack if you prepare your surface right this is not needed.I am sure your buddie knows this but just in case. if you need more help or advice post back

I would put some extra support where the steering box is. But don't think it can't be fixed. It can be fixed, if you know a frame shop in your area they can properly fix it.
