The Project
The center seat was the easiest thing about this project. It is held in place with four bolts underneath. Once removed you can remove the fabric and foam in about 1 minute. At first I wasn't going to use the frame from the center seat but I realized that the frame makes a great sturdy structure to mount the rest of the console to also I wanted to keep the armrest and the best way to do so was to keep the frame. Although leaving the frame you will lose a decent amount of storage space.
So I fixed the CB today. The mount sagged a tiny bit when I was installing parts but I shoved a wedge in between the bracket and now I'm transmitting and receiving perfectly.
We are on day 5 of 120 of our road trip. Right now we are in Niagara Falls on the US side. Come check out our Blog at

Nice console.
Very good work.
I find it kinda cool that you thought to set up a blog for the trip, gonna have some awesome pictures I can see.
I also just noticed you'll be in Dallas, about 200 somethin' miles from me! lol

Due to not checking my mail fast enough, I missed him. Damn.
Ah well. If you happen to find yourself back in this neck of the woods, feel free to give me a call.
Still would love to see you and your truck.
Any updates here??
