Default engine swap questions

hey guys this is moneyman19 from 3rd gen dakota. im at my buddies house and i just set him up on here. we are doing an engine swap on his 2000 ram 1500. it came with the 318, were dropping a 360 in it. the 360 is stock from a parts truck with 90k on it and is very clean. sadly the engine fell while on the engine stand how, we dont know. but the engine was fine other then the bracket for the alternator broke but taking one off the 318. but a tip of the throttle body sadly broke off about 3 inches long bout 2 inches came off. one question is can the throttle body off the 318 work on the 360 properly without less air? i believe they are the same but he wants to makesure which i understand. another question is theres another parts truck we might grab. its a 2500 gas. the rear should just bolt up the same correct? or we gotta modify it? when he learns this site he'll start uploading photos.

the thottle bodies are probably the same. if there is any difference, its the size of the bore, which you can measure. even if ever so slightly different, it'll work anyway.

do you have the pcm from the 360 truck and is it the same year, if not were you going to leave in the 318. you may not have enough fuel in the 318 pcm tune. also, and i'm not sure double check the torque converter and flex plate compatibility.

compare the shape of the pumpkin on the rear ends. the 1500 will be the chrysler 9.25 with the octagon shaped cover and rubber fill plug. the 2500 is likely a dana 60 with the irregular shaped cover, same shape as the front dana 44 on the 1500, wirth pipe plug filler. dana 60 is likely 3 inch wide springs, 1500 is 2.5 inch so you might have to change the shackles. brakes should be ok. check drive shaft mounting yoke.

yeah yeah yeah, everyone promises a write up, nobody ever does one.
good luck with the swap.

remove the crank position sensor from the bell housing so you don't smash it like everybody else does.
