98 ram bad front tire wear help

Default 98 ram bad front tire wear help

have a 98 ram thats lifted front tires are wearing out on the inside for some reason any suggestions? bent axel?wheel bearing?

The tires are likely toed out, get an alignment.

mine's doing the same thing, my front insides are wore almost completely out... I'll be able to tell you sometime soon if it was out of alignment, as I need to get tires on it and I'll have to get the alignment checked when I do...

how do you do you align these? thought they couldnt cause of straight axel right?

well toe in/toe out is changed by adjusting the tie rod ends

You may also have a little too much negative camber as well.
Dad's truck had the same problem, but it was the locking up rearend and broke rack and pinion that was contributing to it.

mine was doing the same thing....the guy that was going to align my tires told me and showed me that I needed to get new lower ball joints and a pitman arm :\

jack the front end up one wheel at a time and give the wheel a good shake. hads at 3 and 9 oclock and 6 and 12 oclock. there should NO movement. if there is, unit bearings are probably cooked. or ball joints. might as well replace em all if they don't look new................

if she's tight, measure your toe in/toe out. you can do it with a tape measure.
