35's with bigger gears = Worse MPG?

i don't understand why y'all get such ****ty mileage. what are you doing - ripping and snorting around town listening to your flowmasters ? LOL, maybe you'd get better mpg if you put on a quiet muffler.

fix your plenum, tune it up, replace the front O2 sensor, correct the speedo for your tire size (even if manually) and drive sensibly. you should get at least 12 city and 14 highway.

My truck is all stock and I get 13.5 MPG's.

Well times i do drive around town but you said flowmasters well i dont got a muffler at all so you know its loud but it was getting good MPG for a while idk what is going on my self what mods could help i have the 5.2 with 4:10 gears with 35's MT's so what could i do i did the cap and roter and spark plugs an wires not sure what els to do i have stock intake ?

i cut off my muffler and i get better gas mileage and way more power.......

Well hell,


i got a V-10 with 285"s (33's) and 3.55's and get around 15 mpg's on the hwy and about 6-8 mpg's city. However i am dropping to 4.10's for towing and expect 9-11 mpg's regardless of tow, city, or hwy.

u know now that u said somthing about a clogged cat that dose remind me that i had a cat leak like a inch hole and i welded it shut so im not sure if that would have any effect on it or not that was about 5 months ago and so idk ?

i do have the check engine light on but it says somthing about the #5 cyilender is misfiring but i put new cap and roter an it went away an now it comes an goes so idk ?
