Exclamation Exhaust Sputtering

OK so here are the facts Im driving around in a 1998 Ram 1500 powered by the 5.9... when i got to my job site i left the truck running as I checked on a couple things. I was gone maybe 5ish minutes and when i got back and put some stuff in the back the exhaust was sputtering and it sounded like the engine was almost being choked or smothered as if it was not getting enough air to it and was going to "stall" or die. So on my way home I replaced the filter and when I pulled in the drive way it was still making the same noise. Any thoughts everybody??? Thanks in advance

Sounds like you might need to clean your IAC.

Idle Air Control motor. On the back of the throttle body. Best bet is to pull the TB off, (buy a new gasket first....) and clean the whole thing. Pull the IAC motor out (it just unscrews) and clean the passages good.
