Default Need help bleeding coolant

My truck right now is running at 220-230 still. Ever since I drained my coolant while doing the plenum repair I've had problems with it running warm. I've replaced the water pump, thermostat (works...tested in boiling water), temp sensor, and some hoses. It only wants to take about 8 liters of coolant and my owners manual says it holds 20. I know I do not have any blockage in the system. I've flushed it mutiple times.

I've done some searching and some say to jack the passenger side up so that the rad cap is above the heater core. Should I remove the cap when doing this? Also, any other tricks out there to bleed the system?

whenever i replace the thermostat i always drill a 1/8 inch hole in the thermostat housing so i can manually bleed the air pockets out. with that little hole you can bleed out the air through the radiator or the resevoir before engine gets to operating temp

I just work from the thermostat housing to the radiator, squeezing the upper rad hose until all the bubbles are out. Constantly adding coolant until I dont get anymore bubbles. I do this while its running. Make sure there is no pressure in the radiator first...I take the cap off when its nice and cool before I start it.

Hope this helps. Worked for me everytime. And I dont jack up the front

I've have to try that. I've squeezed the upper hose before and it doesnt have much coolant in it. I'll try what you said.

Anyone heard of jacking the pass. side up with the rad cap off?

Yes, that's what lblair04 was talking about when he said he doesn't jack the front up. You should give it try .
