Default its just that

i wanted to know if my trans dipstick tube takes a grommet where it meets the transmission one guy says yes it takes an inch wide rubber grommet. Another says no that it is just press fit. The dealer says no grommet. The dipstick tube wasn't lining up properly with the mounting hole on the bell housing so my buddy was thinking that it does take a rubber fitting of some kind. I stuck my finger in the hole the dipstick tube mounts to hoping that if it did have a rubber fitting it didn't get pushed down into the transmission. I did feel something in there but i didn't know what it was.

Might be a wiring harness, aside from that possibility, it should be a straight shot right to the bottom of the pan. Might try using a mirror, and a flashlight to see what you can see in there.....

I would think that there would be a grommet, or, at least, and O-ring to seal the tube...... but, I have been wrong before. (I know, shocking. Isn't it?)
