I dunno... those symptoms would fit low transmission fluid level perfectly. Are you sure it's filled to the proper level? If it is, then it's time to stop driving the truck until you fix the problem -- the alternative is a costly transmission rebuild in the not so distant future.

The PCM doesn't care whether you're turning or going straight. The problem, I think, will be found in the transmission pan.

And keep in mind you have to check fluid in neutral. Checking in park will be inaccurate.

Update!!!
i took my truck to the local aamco and they hooked it up to the comp. it only had to codes 1 for the od switch being bad and 1 for the gas gage. i knew about both of them. then they told me i was leaking fluid from the front seal and back seal. i found that hard to believe because i aint never see any fluid in my driveway or under my truck anywhere. they told more than likely its more than just seals that i'll need due to the truck having 188,000 on it.. they said the can get me a rebuild for about $1,800 or so. does any of this sound funny to any of u guys.

Aamco is always going to tell you that you need a rebuild. You'd do well to seek shop recommendations from people you know who've had transmission repairs done, and go to a recommended shop for a diagnosis.

I suppose there may be some good Aamco's out there, but I avoid them all anyway. The main reason I avoid them is because Aamco openly prefers to sell franchises to those who know nothing about automobile repair. I don't like trusting a mechanic who was hired by a guy who knows squat about automatic transmissions, and would much rather deal with a shop whose owner has ATF in his veins.

Edited to add: If the trans has 188,000 miles on it, it probably does need to be rebuilt or replaced. The transmissions in these trucks don't usually go that far so that one's done well. That $1800 price doesn't seem out of line, but I do think you'd be better off spending it at a shop that's better than Aamco.
