I got around to checking the Crank Position Sensor. I had 5 volts going to the sensor but doing the sensor test I get.2 volts but never get a kick up to 5 volts. I used two different meters. I guess I'll order a sensor and install it.

How do you folks contort yourselves enough to get the dang sensor out.?

I've got a PM to cmckenna about it and I'm waiting on his reply. The service writer for the dealer 200 miles away says PCM and I'm leaning to PCM myself. No wrecking yards in Vegas have one. I'll try the ones in Utah next.

There is a store on ebay that specializes with PCMs for all types of vehicles. a 2001 off road should not be that hard to find. Cost is about $110.

If I were you, I would call these guys:
http://www.arkansaspik-a-part.com/
They have A LOT of 2ndgen dodge rams. I was over there a few weeks ago looking for air hats from 2ndgen dakotas. I saw a lot of 2ndgens that i want to pillage (Windshield, replace spare with full size rim/tire, tailgate)

They are also good on prices.
