Don't think so.Get a later model tranny and make sure it is also from a 2wd.

I could be wrong(might be thinking Dakota), but I think the v6 uses a 42re tranny, while the v8 has a 46re in it. Big diference.

Are the bellhousing bolt patterns the same from 6 to 8 cylinder engines?

That was were I don't remember the facts. I don't think so. Hence, the 42re tranny. And a lot of the v6 rams came with a 5 speed IIRC.

should be tag under the hood, and on tranny...yes go to your dealer, give them the VIN and request a Build Sheet....it will list everything your truck came with...and it takes them not 20 seconds to print it off.

You can also get your build sheet here http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/univers...ull&category=U

BTW, I would not use a tranny out of anything older than a 98. They are different prior to 98.
