need help abs/brake lites on 98 ram

Default need help abs/brake lites on 98 ram
just picked up a 98 ram that has sat for a year,went to move it and the abs and brake lite came on and stayed on, I have full firm peddle what woul be a start point? Thanks

Replace the sensor on top of the rear diff. You can also try and disconnect the electrical connector and clean both halves and see if that fixes it. Disconnect the neg. battery cable first either way.

I unpluged wire and was clean no crud brushed it anyway put back and still lites remain on?

Then replace the sensor.

And you disconnected the negative battery cable while you checked the plugs? If not, DO it when you replace the sensor.

not a complete tard, but how does this sensor come out, there is a metal sheild over it?

I think there is one bolt holding that metal cover over the sensor. Just loosen the shield and unplug sensor. (might have to apply PB blaster and wiggle the sensor left and right) Should take 15 minutes. Good luck
